As an everyday lens I usually have an EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 attached to the front of my camera. However you sometimes need a little extra reach.
TIPA recently gave one of their annual awards to the EF-S 55-250mm, and I managed to pick one up at a rather reasonable price.
To give it a proper trial, I took it with me on a day out and managed to get this shot of a Pine Martin at full zoom.
